General Safety Information

It is important that operators, supervisors, technicians and anyone else in proximity of the machine clearly understand all health and safety aspects. Not complying or failure to follow warnings / instructions can result in loss of life, severe personal injury or serious damage to property.

General warnings

  • This machines contains dangerous voltages and rotating parts. 

  • Never open access panels or perform service or maintenance while the machine is connected to power

  • When operating your RG600PRO sharpener do NOT wear rings, jewellery or loose clothing that could become caught in moving or rotating parts

  • Pneumatic cylinders and bit holders pose a squeeze / crush hazard

  • Always check all hoses, fittings, clamps and connections before starting your shift or after an extended break. Do NOT operate the machine if damage or excessive wear is present.

  • While inserting a sharpening cup, be aware of the positions of the various controls and ensure none of the controls are touched while the shapening cup is inserted.

  • Children and visitors must be kept away from the equipment at all times.

  • Your RG600PRO sharpener should ONLY be used for its intended purpose using the recommended consumables. Any unauthorised modifications or not recommended spare parts and consumables can cause fires, electric shock, injuries and damage to equipment.

Safety Recommendations

  • Keep the machine and area around the machine accessible, clear, well lit, dry and clean

  • Reduce the risk of slipping and falling around the machine, as an example appropriate footwear or non-slip tiles.

  • Do not manually lift bits heavier than 15kg (35lbs)

  • The power supply must be equipped with lightning surge arresters.

Warning Signs

There are a number of warning signs located on the machine. It is important that you are aware of them and understand their meaning.

In the event that any of these warning signs come off, they have to be replaced with new ones in the original location.

Emergency Stop

It is important that anyone wanting to operate the RG600PRO sharpener know where the emergency stop is located and how it is activated. 

The emergency stop is engaged by pressing in the big red button. The reset of an emergency stop must always be preceded by an investigation of the reason for the stop. 

NOTE: using the e-stop to turn off your machine at the end of the day is NOT recommended. Turn off your machine by using the off button.

Noise Emissions

The RG600PRO sharpener emits 76 dB during the sharpening cycle. 

 

Scrapping and Recycling

The handling of all waste must comply with your local / federal laws and regulations.
