Visually inspecting your XR28™ before start-up and operation is critical for the safety of the operator and to improve the longevity of your sharpener.
This can be broken down into a couple of sub-sections:
Mechanical
Electrical
Water
General
Look around your machine to visually inspect the physical components of your sharpener for any damage.
Specifically inspect and test the following areas:

The hood, does it open and close comfortably, |

The bit table, does it move freely |

The body, any visual damage that could impede safety of operating the machine. |

Inspect all cables for any damage.

Ensure the incomming power cables are secured and in good condition. Make sure the emergency stop is disengaged. |

Inspect all visible cables from main motor to sharpening head. |

Your XR28™ will operate more efficiently when it uses clean water.

Ensure there is enough water in the bag. Inspect the in-laid filter, replace if necessary. |

Inspect all the water tubes and fittings for any damge and/or leaks. |

There are some general, non-machine specific start up checks that must be carried out.
Ensure there are no obstructions, or dangerous objects lying on or around the machine.
Are you wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure all loose items are packed away.
Any guests, or other operators are nearby.
